When my grandmothers both died in 2025, I was tasked with writing their obituaries. While learning more about them, I realized that an obituary wasn't going to do them justice. So, I wrote a show for them instead. This 30-minute performance focusing on how they left Vietnam with their families is part of a larger project in development.

Vivi Thai

Writer, Actor, Producer

Vivi started as an actor, and then she quickly learned to love the creation of a project, from writing to producing to performing. She is excited to be working with director Genny Wilson again. She wants to honor her grandmothers for her first solo show.

Genny Wilson

Director

Genny is thrilled to be reunited with Vivi Thai for another Hollywood Fringe Festival. She previously directed Vivi in "She Kills Monsters" (HFF19). She is also an actor and producer! She loves the art of storytelling and is always eager to contribute to the next adventure.

Morgan Pierre Susser

Lighting Designer

Originally studying concert and theater lighting design, Morgan has spent nearly three decades working professionally as a cinematographer. He is passionate about using light in service of storytelling and creating a distinct visual identity for every project.

His work includes campaigns for major brands such as Apple, Sephora, and Target, as well as music videos for artists including Michael Jackson, Paramore, Bob Dylan, Lana Del Rey, and Justin Bieber, whose videos have accumulated more than a billion combined views.

Rebecca Schoenberg

Technical Director

Rebecca the stage manager/tech for the Blackwater Black Box theatre for all the HFF26 shows. She is the go-to regarding
issues surrounding Lights, Sound, Projection for all four of the Broadwater theatres. She is responsible for scheduling all tech
sessions leading up to Fringe and oversees the the other S.M./Techs.

Paula Cizek

Marketing Manager

Paula relishes building new audiences for breakthrough stories and ideas. For the past 10 years, she’s led change consultancy NOBL’s thought leadership, growing the newsletter to 11K weekly readers and collaborating with PR to place articles in media outlets like Fast Company. In the arts world, she co-produced variety show It’s Tonight, and has several projects currently in development.

Farah Noor

Stage Manager

Farah Noor is a Los Angeles native whose work sits at the intersection of education, community engagement, and cultural storytelling. Over the past decade, she has helped develop programs and partnerships that expand opportunities for young people and support artist-led social impact initiatives. Her previous work includes roles with the Center for Cultural Power, College Track, BUILD, and City Year. She currently serves as Partnerships Director at Cambiar Education and is thrilled to be part of this production.

Hanh Phung Ngo

Ba Ngoai

Hanh's unwavering strength helped her and her family thrive as they forged new lives in Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Virginia, and finally Texas. She worked as an assistant accountant for PSO and Sallie Mae for 20+ years. Blessed were you when you got to sit and eat one of her meals. Her joy of cooking and warmth around the dinner table were delightfully passed down to her children and grandchildren. She loved to sing and was a most-welcome companion on shopping trips. Her generosity and love of beauty shined for anyone who met her.

Nhung Kim Thai

Ba Noi

Kim Nhung was TOUGH. Her indomitable strength of character helped her family thrive as they built a new life in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Family was most important to her. Even though she had limited schooling, her resourcefulness and acumen helped to support and nurture all six of her sons through college and their young adult lives. A loving and dutiful wife and mother, she worked a full-time job at Bama Pie Company and still cooked delicious homemade meals, kept her clean house organized, and perfectly laundered and ironed clothes for eight people. Her savviness helped her stretch money to match her generous spirit.
